INW Story


After his retirement from the Egyptian Navy, Capt. Omar Ezz El Din, ex-frogman, started his private business by establishing INW in February 1977.

The operations began from a very small office located at the first floor in Sidi Beshr in Alexandria – Egypt, consisting of five employees who carried out the jobs depending on their own experience.

Between year 1977 and 1982, the aim of INW management was to respond quickly and professionally to clients’ requirements in order to gain their trust.

Growth and Expansion:

Hand in hand, step by step with hard work; INW started to grow and built a sound reputation in the Oil & Gas industry. Consequently the number of staff has increased.

INW core permanent staff now is over 500 pax. whom ensure timely and appropriate response to clients’ inquiries and requirements.

INW inaugurated the following branches to expand its services to other areas in order to continue the successful achievements.

Kuwait, Kuwait Branch in 1996
Saudi Arabia, KSA Branch in 2006
And finally, Al-Doha, Qatar in 2008

Since INW established in 1977, has faced and overcomed several challenges while managing the diving and marine operations in the Oil and Gas offshore industry.
At this time, we started servicing the oil and gas offshore industry only in Egypt and now we are operating not only in Egypt but also in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar and ready to expand globally.
Oil and Gas Offshore Industry is very critical and by being diversified I am sure about our growth.

Mission

INW Mission is to provide the Oil & Gas Offshore Industry with best, safe, reliable and high quality marine services, taking into consideration safe operation, pollution prevention and cost effectiveness.

Vision

INW will do everything necessary to become one of the leaders in the Oil & Gas offshore industry for quality and safety. INW will continue to meet client needs for reliable and incident free marine services.

Awards & Achievements

In 1984, INW was awarded its first truly Mega project, the construction of Al Deikhela Jetty. This project was supposed to be completed in two years, but with the determination, perseverance of the staff, it was completed in only ten month. This project was crucial to confirm INW’s reputation and development as a steady company growing in the Egyptian Market.

Another particular achievement for INW came in 1984 when INW was awarded Gupco’s contract for diving services for a period of Four (4) years. Then, INW was awarded the same contract again since 1994 until date.

In 1988, INW inaugurated Cairo branch in order to continue the successful achievements.

In 1990, INW inaugurated Abu Dhabi branch in order to expand its services to the Arabian Gulf area.

In 1996, INW was awarded ADMA OPCO contract in ABU Dhabi, a Four (4) years contract extended to another four years. (ended in 2004) for the provision of Diving Services for Subsea Maintenance of Pipelines & Structures using our Diving Support Vessel INW-1, this was purchased to support the execution of the contract.

In 1996, INW achieved ISO 9002: 1994 acquired from BVQI, to be one of the leading companies in Egypt that implements the Quality Management System all over the Company which has been upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 in year 2003.

In 1996, INW was awarded another major contract in Kuwait; KOC contract for the provision of Diving Services and Maintenance for SPM Calm Buoys in Mina Al Ahmadi. The duration of the contract was for Four (4) years and has been extended to another Two (2) years. Actually the contract ended in 2002.

In 2001, IMW A/W inspection department has been established to cover the inspection needs and NDT services for On-Shore inspection activities plus Off-Shore Inspection and NDT services.

In 2003, Capt. Mohamed Omar and Mr. Ahmed Omar joined their father’s business and became his partners and by the efforts made, hard work and dedication, several successful projects had followed, as an example:-
BP contract for performing pipeline repair campaign programe using DP-2 Diving Support Vessel, Bibby Aquamarine,
Likpin contract for the provision of diving services for pipe laying and construction services using DP-3, C-Master (ex. Jascon-5).

In 2004, INW was awarded Gupco’s Bronze Award for outstanding achievement and lasting contribution on HSE Safety input Performance as well as ADMA’s HSE award for Outstanding Safety Performance.

In 2005, INW was awarded Sumed contract for Maintenance of Sumed Offshore Facilities at Sumed Terminals (Sidi Kreir & Ein El Sukhna) for a period of Three (3) years. Actually the contract ended in December 2010.

In 2006, INW has carried out the first complete U/W Inspection for Semi-Submersible Rig “Atwood Hunter” in Mauritania for Woodside – Energy and also underwater inspection for Semi-Submersible Rig Scarabeo 4 in Med. Sea for Saipem.

In 2006, INW inaugurated Saudi Arabia branch in order to expand its services to the Gulf area to cover the Offshore Petroleum companies with their demands and requirements in a flexible and professional manner.

In 2006, Owing to the worldwide Competition & to convoy the new technology seeking the ultimate Satisfaction of our Clients, INW provided a value added service, which is Industrial Rope Access Services “Abseiling Technique”.

In 2007, INW completed the first U/W inspection contract awarded by ELNG for the provision of Diving & Survey services to carry out Baseline Inspection Survey at ELNG Site, IDKU, and Egypt.

In 2008, INW achieved OHSAS 18001:1999 “Occupational Health and Safety” as well as ISO 14001:2004 “Environmental Management System” acquired from BVQI.

In 2008, “INW-2″ Utility Support Vessel has delivered and was engaged in a 3 years contract with “Bunduq Company Limited” ended in March 2014 & now engaged in a different jobs on call out basis.

In 2010, INW was awarded a major contract in Kuwait; KOC contract for the provision of offshore support vessel for KOC Marine Operations including Charter of M/V “INW-3”, Mooring Services, Operation & Maintenance and Provision of diving team to carry out all offshore diving & maintenance for SBM Calm Buoys for a duration of Five (5) years.

In 2010, INW was awarded a major contract in UAE, ZADCO Contract for the provision of Diving and Underwater Inspection Services, the contract ended in April 2013.

In 2011, INW was awarded another major contract in UAE, ADMA-OPCO for the Provision of General Diving Services, the contract will end in November 2013.

In 2012, INW was awarded another contract in UAE, ADMA- OPCO Contract “Hire of Standby Rescue Vessel (SRV) for Umm Shaif field – M/V “INW-4” – for duration of Three (3) years.

In 2012, INW was awarded a another major contract in Kuwait; KOC contract for the provision of offshore support vessel for KOC Marine Operations including Charter of M/V “INW-5”, Mooring Services, Operation & Maintenance and Provision of diving team to carry out all offshore diving & maintenance for SBM Calm Buoys for a duration of Three (3) years.

In 2013, INW has started the New Building for its first DP-2 Multipurpose Offshore support vessel M/V “INW-10” which is expected to be delivered by the beginning of year 2015.

In 2013, INW has established an Institute for Commercial Diving Technology “Egyptian International Diving School- EIDS” with the collaboration in a joint Venture with (International Academy for Diving Technology) owned by Capt. Mohsen El-Gohary, whom have the past experience in Training and Instructing Diving with all its Activities Since 1967, and Commercial Diving Work Since 1975.

INW has a strong commitment to QHSE Management System; INW operates within a clearly defined Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policy. Safety within INW is actively endorsed and supported by top management.

INW is certified from Bureau Veritas Certification for Total Quality Management System, which complies with the International Standards & in order to continue maintaining and improving our business, personnel occupational health, prevent pollution and reduce or eliminate risk hazard to achieve clients satisfactions & expectations, INW is implementing the following standards:

INW Diving Operations and Safety Manual is a guideline that describes our company diving rules, policies, personnel and plant standards, safety and efficiency planning, operational Standards and limitations while running an operation.
INW implements training programs throughout the company for all personnel performing activities affecting the system. This contributes to the continual improvement of QHSE Management System and improves Personnel Performance.
